ABOUT DOUG AVEN
Bit of background about myself; I was a 911 Fire Dispatcher for 31 years!

I retired in 2005 to persue my passion for the Art of Taxidermy.

In 1970, I started Taxidermy as a hobby. My first training was through the Northwestern School of Taxidermy. In 1986, I attended the Wisconsin American Institute of Taxidermy. Afterwards I openeda shop that was licensed by the state of Michigan. In 2004 I traveled to Iowa where I trained with World Champion,  Joe Meder.

3- 3rd place ribbons in Professional Divisiona at The World Taxidermy Competition

2 Professional Division 1st place ribbons and "Best Of Categories"  at the

Michigan Taxidermist Association Competition

2- 2nd place Masters Division at the Florida Taxidermy Association Competition

7th year as a MTA board member
